Some proof of concept and quick material-scans I've done using a pretty simple and straight-forward setup. Inspired by the "You're phone is a material-scanner"-article at:

The idea is to have a set-up that works for a majority of materials with lots of values and parameters to tweak afterwards so that you can go from a photo-shoot to material within minutes. Drop your new photos into the correct slots and voila! New material-scan.
Could spend more time on tiling and tweaking but these are just good starting points for new materials.
I used a Sony A7 with a macro-lens and shot these with 8 pictures in various lighting.
